PRIMEGROUT EPOXY is a 100% solids, of pure epoxy grouting material that is specially designed for the efficient installation of heavy equipment and machinery like rail cranes, hoists, hydraulic presses, generators, compressors, grinding mills, concrete and steel posts, anchor bolts, etc. It has excellent bonding property, binding steel to concrete resulting in a vibration resistant installation. 

 

 

PRIMEGROUT EPOXY is supplied as a 3 component material; part A, part B, part C. Parts A & B is the resin system while part C is a filler. The mixed resin system by itself will self level. When the filler is added, the viscosity will increase commensurately with the amount of filler and reducing its self leveling property as well as the compressive strength. The amount of filler that can be added ranges from zero part to 6 parts by weight of the resin system. Thus, depending on the conditions required, PRIMEGROUT EPOXY may be used with or without filler.

PROCEDURE

1. The area to be grouted must be cleaned, removing all loose materials and unsound concrete. Remove all rust, grease and oil from sole plates, machinery bases, anchor bolts, etc. 

2. Apply oil, wax or grease on forms and other areas where grout should not ad here. 

3. Mix part A with part B thoroughly in a container till the mixture generates heat. This indicates the correct chemical reaction. Add part C and mix until uniform in appearance. 

NOTES:

It is important that the correct ratio of part A to part B should be used. The ratio is indicated in the label of the container. The amount of part C may be varied depending on the viscosity needed. The more amount of C added, the more viscous and less workable the mixture becomes. The bigger the amount, the higher the viscosity, and the lower the compressive strength. At a ratio of 1 part A plus B to 6 parts C the compressive strength is approximately 5,500 psi. Strength tests should be conducted for different ratios when the situation requires. 

4. Ambient temperature will affect the working time and curing time of the mixed grout. At lower temperatures, working time and curing time are longer than at higher temperatures. 

5. Apply the mixed system over the prepared area to be grouted. 

6. Allow the grout to set without disturbing at least 3 to 28 days depending on thickness of the grout. 

 

CLEANING OF TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT:

Prompt cleaning of all tools and equipment is necessary. As the mixture hardens, cleaning becomes difficult. Prior to hardening, all tools must be washed and cleaned using PHILPRIME CLEANSOL. Ordinary solvents cannot be used. Hardened epoxy will have to be chiseled to be removed. 

 

SAFETY PRECAUTIONS:

 Work in a well ventilate area. Avoid inhaling any fumes. 

 Use safety goggles and gloves to avoid eye and skin contact. 

 Avoid scratching of face and avoid eating until hands are properly washed. 

 

WHAT TO DO IN CASE OF DIRECT CONTACT:

 To the clothing: remove the clothing at once and change to clean ones. 

 To the body or skin: wash or shower immediately with soap and water to remove spilled epoxy. 

 To the eyes: flush out with large amount of water then follow with immediate medical attention. 

 

USE OF SOLVENTS:

 Solvents should not be used to remove epoxy from the skin. They will tend to dry the skin and can cause dermatitis. 

 

COVERAGE:
